A professional assassin, disguised as an old woman integrates into a group of homeless drug addicts and poisons six on a cold, rainy November night. So, begins a series of murders and assaults aimed at driving criminal segments of the population out of the city.
The police chief assigns Angeline Morris as lead detective, in part because nobody expects the case to be solved (professional assassin) and the police hierarchy don’t really care if it is solved.
There is a twist. The killer begins calling into a classic rock radio program, requesting songs that suggest a secret code. Jack Burris, known in the city as “The Music Man” begins working the puzzle. Why would an assassin want to reveal anything? When Burris becomes confident that he is onto something major, he goes to the police and meets Angeline. As more incidents occur, she becomes convinced that the only way they will solve the case is by solving the puzzle.
