This is a book about mass murder on a scale previously unknown.
The murdered were the Jews of Holland. The murderers were German. The victims in a process of disenfranchisement, were robbed of everything, women and men, healthy, sick, city folk, farmers. They were transported in cattle cars without food or water and many died along the way.
The murderers were often not brutes or illiterates but caring fathers and mothers celebrating Christmas with their children and thereafter resumed their labour, the murder of countless men, women and children, defenceless people, fellow human beings.
